LVP is one of the most requested flooring materials for Boca Raton homes because many products are waterproof or highly moisture-resistant, hold up well on concrete slab, and cost less installed than tile or hardwood. It’s a practical fit for whole-home installations, kitchens, and bathrooms alike.

South Florida’s humidity and concrete slab construction make some flooring materials harder to justify. LVP holds up in both conditions: it doesn’t require the acclimation window that solid wood does, many products resist moisture well enough for kitchens and bathrooms, and it performs consistently across humid summers and drier winters. It’s also available in wood- and stone-look finishes that are difficult to distinguish from the real material at a fraction of the installed cost.
- Strong moisture resistance — a practical option for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms
- No lengthy acclimation period required before installation
- Realistic wood and stone visuals at a lower installed cost than hardwood or natural stone
- Scratch- and dent-resistant wear layer, suited to households with pets or kids
Installation & Subfloor Requirements
LVP can be installed as a floating floor (click-lock) or glued down, depending on the product and the room. On concrete slabs, we check for flatness and moisture conditions per the manufacturer’s requirements before installation — this is standard practice regardless of material, and it’s what actually determines how long a floor performs, not the product alone. Expansion gaps are left at walls and transitions to allow for normal seasonal movement.

Common Questions
Is LVP really waterproof?
Many LVP products are waterproof or highly moisture-resistant, but performance also depends on installation quality, seams, and the subfloor underneath. We’ll recommend specific products suited to wet-area use during your consultation.
Can LVP go over my existing tile or concrete?
Often, yes — floating LVP can be installed over many existing hard-surface floors as long as the subfloor is flat and stable. We assess this during the site visit.
